'Copper Venus' Textured Lusterware Wall Hanging

Hand built from porcelain with a rustic, textured finish, this piece was then decorated with artist-made luster glazes and fired through a complex, multi-stage process to develop the metallic surface. Four panels hang one below the other, and each unique. Two small ceramic bells close the piece at the foot.

The top panel glows warm rose, the second cools to a pale silvery lilac, the third gives a  crimson copper, and the last is a soft gold shot through with flecks of turquoise, interacting with the texture. 

It hangs from a wire loop, ready for a wall or a window where the light can move across the texture through the day. It is also safe to hang outside and will not fade the luster. A one-of-a-kind piece, made to be looked at and listened to.

✨ Note on Lusterware: The shimmering, metallic finish of luster glazes is notoriously difficult to capture in photographs. I’ve done my best to represent each piece faithfully, but part of their magic is how they transform in real life, shifting with the light and offering new surprises from every angle.
